Ecowater

EcoWater is the world’s largest manufacturer of household water treatment systems, offering a complete product range that includes water softeners and drinking water filters. For over 80 years, Ecowater has developed innovative, state-of-the-art products to meet the needs of householders, businesses and the trade.

Ecowater identified a market requirement for water softeners, but needed a search strategy not only to improve their organic rankings but also to manage their PPC campaign. After conducting in-depth research to identify further keyword opportunities for Ecowater, we were eventually chosen to take control of their online marketing.

Task

Ecowater has been a highly successful business for decades, but the website of their UK division required a fresh approach to their online presence. The site has performed consistently well for branded traffic, having an established business name, but their non-branded traffic was almost non-existent. We were tasked to improve this as well as take control of their PPC campaign.

Approach

The Ecowater website already had an established brand name and good domain age, but the site needed a complete overhaul for organic SEO. Our keyword research revealed substantial searches for water softening products, including:

  • Home/residential/domestic water softeners
  • Commercial water softeners
  • Water treatment

Our approach was to create a number of optimised content pages based around these key terms that would attract visitors to relevant pages via organic results, while at the same time introducing a link building campaign.

Results

Since July 2010, overall non-branded traffic has increased by 450%, with hits on target key phrases such as ‘water softeners’ and ‘commercial water softeners’, evidence of how the site has performance in search engines since the outset of the campaign.
